Keep Cool During the Heatwave
This week the UK is set to surpass the highest temperature ever recorded.  Today temperatures are set to creep up to in excess of 38.5C. Wow!
We all have different strategies for coping with this level of heat -taking refuge in the shade, paddling in the sea or eating copious amounts of ice cream to name just a few! One of the simplest ways to ease the burden of the heat and remain comfortable is to dress sensibly -that’s where EDZ come in!
Many people make the mistake of thinking wool is only supposed to be worn when it is cold outside.  This is not true for Merino wool. EDZ Merino garments need to be top of your kit list regardless of the time of year. Here are just a few reasons to wear Merino during the current heatwave:
Cooling
EDZ Merino garments are all made from 100% Superfine Merino wool. This ensures optimum performance when you need it most. As your body heats up, the moisture vapors will be absorbed by the Merino fibres, and released to the drier environment outside of the fabric. In doing so it releases heat and keeps you dry and comfortable. Merino wool provides excellent natural protection from the suns harmful rays. Merino absorbs UV across the entire UV Spectrum. Research shows that it is far better than untreated cotton, linen, nylon, acrylic, silk and polyester. However don’t forget to wear your sun cream too!

Being hot inevitably leads to sweating. Merino wool will banish that awful sticky clammy feeling. It will wick away sweat from your body and help you remain comfortable. It also has the added bonus of being naturally anti-bacterial, meaning it won’t smell. Perfect for everything from running through to every day commuting!
